Seven Celina Track athletes participated in the University of Findlay's High School Track Inv over the weekend. On Saturday Julie Snyder, Eryn Langenkamp, and Kelby Rosengarten took part. Eryn returned Sunday, along with Blake Moran, Derek Wade, Chris Nusbaum and Collin Brogan.
On Saturday Julie continued her strong winter with a WIN in the long jump, second in the high jump, and third in the 55-meter hurdles...(The meet included athletes from St Louis MO, Aurora IL, Detriot MI, Ann Arbor MI and many Ohio H S's and track clubs. Julie tied her career best in the HJ and had a career best in the hurdles. Kelby set a personal record in WINNING the long jump. He also placed 8th in the 55-meter hurdles. Eryn continued her comeback from a 2007 spring injury as she placed 4th in the high jump, 9th in the 55-meter hurdles, 6th in the long jump, and 13th in the 55-meter dash on Saturday. On Sunday Eryn cleared an indoor best to place 3rd in the pole vault. Blake Moran improved his career best distance in the long jump by one foot as he placed 5th in the event. In his first ever 55-meter high hurdle race Blake took 15th, then followed that with a 23rd place in the 55-meter dash. Derek Wade placed 10th in the shot put, with Chris Nusbaum taking 19th and Collin Brogan 21st in the mile run.
Next up for the Indoor Dogs...the BGSU Sid Sink H S Inv on Feb 23 in which a greater number of athletes will compete as preparation for the outdoor season.
