Celina Tracksters WIN Kenton Relays!

The Celina Runnin' Dogs traveled to Kenton for the 28th Annual Kenton Relays.  Seven schools took part in the 'all relay' event with Celina WINNING both the Men's and Women's Team Championships.  CHS WON 13 of 26 events, placed second in 11 events, to go with one third and 1 fifth.  The Runnin' Women totaled 116 points to runner-up Upper Sandusky's 75.  Indian Lake was third with 70, followed by Kenton (48), Buckeye Valley (42), Bucyrus (41), and Bellefontaine 'B' 4.  The Men's finished with 109, to Indian Lake's 74 and Kenton's 66.  Upper Sandusky (60) was fourth, Bucyrus (46) fifth, Buckeye Valley (35) sixth, and Bellefontaine 'B' (8).  

Highlighting the blustery day were three 'school' and 'meet' records.  Both the Men and Women pole vaulters established new standards of excellence.  The trio of Luke Bonvillian (13' 3"), Todd Hertel (12' 6"), and Janson Finkbeiner (10' 6") vaulted 1' 6" higher than the 25 year old previous school record.  Eryn Langenkamp (9' 6"), Cayla Hellwarth (8' 0"), and Ashley Coon (7' 0") leaped 3' 6" higher than the old CHS mark.  Eryn and Cayla joined Julie Snyder and Katie Hague to shatter the 4 x 100-meter shuttle hurdle record by 2.3 seconds as the quartet ran 1:05.1.  Individually Luke just missed the varsity PV record of 13' 6" when he missed at 13' 7".  Eryn did likewise as she missed at 10' 1" which would have broken the individual PV record for girls.

Next up for the Dogs...at home on Thursday vs Van Wert and Lima Central Catholic in a 4:30 start.
